FAQ
Why do you charge a monthly membership fee?
Our fees help to cover the club's expenses, such as bank fees, advertising,
bookkeeping, postage, ETC. With the help of these fees, we can continue to offer
wholesale prices.
Many co-op's and buying clubs charge small yearly fees. Why do you charge somewhat higher
monthly fees?
To insure wholesale pricing. If we did not have these fees, we would have
to charge retails prices, as other co-ops/clubs do. These monthly fees are minimal compared to
retail pricing. Our fees are comparable to the cost of gas to travel to
shop (and then you have to pay
retail when buying).
Do I have to order every month? Is there a minimum I must purchase to qualify for wholesale prices?
No to both questions.
The club, as a whole, may have to meet a minimum purchase amount with certain vendors. But, individual
members are never required to purchase EVERY month - nor are they required to spend a minimum amount. If your membership fees are current,
you purchase at wholesale. If, at any time, the club does not meet it's minimum for
wholesale, members will be notified and we will try and boost ordering to make the minimum.
Why does the community need a buying club?
If we did not have the club, community members
would have to order many of these products through mail order
and pay shipping costs and retail price - or- they would have to travel.
The buying club makes it easier on the pocketbook. We now can provide affordable, healthier options for our families.
Why don't you have a storefront? It would be easier to walk into a
store and purchase what I need.
At this time, we have a small inventory at the Book Store, on Main St. in Buckhannon WV. This is a sampling of what the club has to offer and a place to purchase limited items at RETAIL. We do take special orders at the Book Store for your favorite items that you may not see on display. This is the best way for us
to offer RETAIL and to continue to keep our expenses/overhead
at a minimum - insuring wholesale pricing and affordable membership fees.
